Qingdao HiStone Intelligent Commercial System Co. Ltd (HICS) was a subsidiary of Hisense Group and was named Qingdao Hisense Intelligent Commercial System Co. Ltd. It was the core enterprise for developing IT products for the company. In March 2019, Shiji Commercial Information Technology Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Shiji Group, acquired the controlling shareholding of HICS. 

 

Shiji Group provides software solutions and services for the hospitality, food service, retail and entertainment industries, ranging from hotel management solutions to food and beverage and retail systems, payment gateways, data management, online distribution and more. Shiji develops a network of cloud technology platforms that facilitate data exchange by connecting businesses vertically and horizontally across related industries.

 

HICS aims to provide comprehensive information solutions such as software, hardware, and consulting through research and development. The company has been at the forefront of innovative technologies in China, and its products are distributed throughout China and around the world. Its products include commercial software, retail and hospitality point-of-sale systems, financial payment and sports lottery terminals.

Since the company's inception in 1989, HiStone has been one of the pioneers in circulation information management, focusing on research and development in the retail and hospitality industries. Powered by the significant R&D investment of the Shiji Group and its rich research base, HiStone insists on technology innovation, which remains its core value today.

HICS has developed a cutting-edge R&D division with world-class talents, expertise, technologies, and management skills through its commitment to research and development. Their highly skilled and talented R&D team of nearly 200 members is situated in Qingdao, Shenzhen, and Shanghai's state-of-the-art research and development centers.

 

With its efforts to remain at the forefront of innovation, the company continuously strives to improve its technological advancements and research and development endeavours. It owns seven laboratories focused on radio frequency, electronic engineering and architecture directly related to three major sectors of Retail and Hospitality POS Systems, Financial Payment Terminals and Retail Management POS Software.

The state-of-the-art laboratories have the latest equipment and technology to run many tests under various conditions to simulate real-world scenarios, such as high temperature, high humidity, low humidity, low pressure, collision and drop testing.

There is also a designated laboratory for electromagnetic compatibility testing to ensure POS products are free from interference and meets safety standards.

This is part of the quality guarantee that all manufactured products will work well in any environment.
